The overt support the Catholic Church provided to Republicans since John Paul II (and probably before) is part of what drove me away. Francis and Leo have started to right the ship, but Cardinals Listecki and Dolan (especially No Communion for Democrats Listecki) still exist.
Simply put, the recent past of the church is partly to blame for this mess. I would love to hear what the homiles are saying now days…
